I finally got out and about to do some shooting the other day, and man oh man am I out of practice.  I can't really put my finger on why I've been avoiding photography (and art in general, for that matter) so much, but some problems with my equipment as well as some health issues have certainly affected my motivation. But with the interesting weather recently I've found myself thinking about going on more outings, especially now that I got the OK from my doctor to resume higher-impact activities like hiking.  So, hopefully I'll be popping up occasionally once again.

So I thought I'd lost hundreds of my photos that I hadn't even gone through yet, and today I discovered a randomly placed folder on one of my drives containing every last one.  Saying I'm relieved would be an understatement. I haven't pulled out my camera for anything other than weather-type stuff for months, though I'm actually getting motivated to do some editing now.  Feels like it was a bit of a sign to get stuff done. And I'm definitely spending the time to burn some backup DVDs after this. Oh, yeah... and hello to anyone still around. :D ...Been pretty dead around here for some time now.

I've been out shooting lately but just can't manage to get things edited and posted.  To name a few locations, I've visited a smallish old town square, steam engines in the morning fog, a rusty old drawbridge over the mighty MO, found a neat new spot along the shore of a familiar lake, and shot some old stuff dug up at an old rural homestead where we built the cabin. ...And I've edited next to nothing.  Gah!  And this weekend I'm going to be gone where there will be no internet, let alone electricity.  So it'll have to wait for now.  As for getting to more gallery browsing, I have to admit I don't feel as horrible as usual since I have so ma
